Yummm! I made some cute little cupcakes last Tuesday for Alex to take to work and for some of my friends... They turned out really cute... Here are some pictures! Oh yeh, they were really DELISH, too!!
NOTE: PLEASE DON'T DROOL ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN! (hehehe)

Ahhhh, it's such a relief when things actually work... Okay, so I'm a happy camper now... and you guys are all still probably sleeping.. It's only 8:35 am on Sunday... Barbara, I know you're up by now so you my be the first person to read this today!!! Good morning to all and Happy Sunday. I am now the proud owner of 10G of space on blogger... That's a TON of space... and Yes, you can "run out" of space on Blogger and either have to open a new account and start a new blog, or opt out like I did to continue with the same blog and just pay for extra space... I went through about a gig of space in about a year and a month or two.. But, those of you who read my blog know that it is composed mostly of photos. So, I probably use space up more quickly than most of you out there with blogs. I also mostly use big size photos.. I use a Mac, Justin, so Windows isn't an option for me, thanks for the suggestion, though! I am sure others can benefit from it... and will.... to resize the photos they upload to blogger.
So now, without much further ado... I bring to you ... my new and improved, News From France... which is now stocked up with PLENTY of storage space... YAHOOOO.... oops.. I mean GOOOOOOGLE!!! Have a nice Sunday everyone!!!

just bought more space for my blog- The space actually goes to Picasa and gmail but the pictures you upload to Blogger are directly related to your Picasa account.. How many of you know this... If you go to your Picasa account, you will see all of your blogger pics stored there... This is a great backup system to stor photos... in case your computer crashes and you haven't done a recent back up... Anyhow.. I'm digressing.. This post is a test run to see if my extra storage space of 10 G ($20) is working yet or not.. I am having problems with it and writing back and for to support for help.. Keep your fingers crossed... If a picture appears with this post- then all is well and I will be a happy camper... If not, I'll be pissed and it means more emails to Google to figure out how to access the extra storage that has been bought and paid for since yesterday.. Here I go!

Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr

So I saw Iron Man yet again last weekend. I have to say that the more I watch this movie the more I am impressed with Jon Favreau's presence as a director and his ability to make such a crisp, clear and entertaining rendition of a comic book movie. I never knew much about Iron Man before the movie (even though I owned the action figure as a child), but the more I find out the more I am struck with how faithful those involved int he film stayed to the character.

I must say that Iron Man is one of my favorite films of the year so far, right up there with In Bruges. You can bet I will be buying the special edition of this film on DVD the day it is released and probably watching it that night.

By the way, if you think tthree viewings of one movie is bad just wait until The Dark Knight comes out. When Batman Begins came out I saw it at lest 4 times in the theatre and to this day it remains one of the first films I'll pop in if I'm bored and want to watch while I do something else.

Chine de Bleu et Blanc , original watercolor, 9" x 11"
Blue and white china seems inherently French for no good reason other than you see an awful lot of French Ultramarine blue in France.
Like this irresistable blue milk jug I could not pass by in Cuisinophile...
Or Corinne's grandmere's bleu et blanc china on her white lace tableclothe... The manderines give it the "Matisse" touch don't they?
Di Overton of Designers Block sent me this shot of mini blue and white china at the outdoor antique fair in the Bastille..
There was a big pile of blue and white with a toile pattern at the gift shop at Chateau Vaux le Vicomte. Really you could easily spend all your time in that fab shop!
Steve Wall in Chicago sent me shots of his wife, Susan's china collection...
All blue and white and to die for non?
My collection...ahem and not just bleu et blanc either. A mini collector can not be too choosey.
A final shot of Corinne's Paris window on Boulevard Michel - the light is so blue-grey non?

WET PAINT

When I was in Paris in March there was tons of paint being thrown about!

YSL's windows were full of it...

Like these shoes for just 470 Euros (!!!)

Course I noticed these gents outside the YSL boutique hard at work...

Here are the paints - were they responsible for YSL's new look???

Across the way over at Christian Lacroix this thrown paint gown!

Don't even think about asking le prix, ma cherie...

A painted bag in another boutique - 239 Euros

I know you're hungry...it's breakfast - so a "thrown paint" cake at Bon Marche

True you could always just paint your body...

Well parts of your body, like this big poster at Galerie Lafayette...

Another way to get the "thrown paint" Paris look...

Over at ZAZZLE - a WET PAINT T-Shirt...ahem :)

BONNE JOURNEE & Thanks Di!

Pink Berry

Fraise du Boise, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
I was getting in the pink in sunny Philadelphia this past weekend and I forgot to come home and do my blog :)

So here's a bunch of pink berries for you to munch on for your Paris Breakfast...well don't munch on this strawberry pillow!
You can definitely munch on THIS! Me too.
Oooops No munching on the strawberry Eiffle Tower! Where is our strawberry statue of liberty or Empire state building is what I wanna know? HUMPH
A highly munchable glossy chocolate and raspberry gateaux...Oooooo
Please no munching! But these raspberry butcher's coats are pretty divine are they not?
A berry-colored cafe with green chairs - Delicious!
Get out your forks and dive in everyone!
Another delicious strawberry coat on these kidlets fighting over who is going to ride the horsie...

No munching but
if you want to get in the pink there's plenty at PB's Zazzle

BONNE JOURNEE!

#115 Pink Champagne, original watercolor - SOLD, 9" x 11"

I'm not talking about the kind of French Toast you put syrup on...

I'm talking about all the weddings and graduations going on... They were toasting champagne at the wedding on Gossip Girl on Monday. And not to forget the wedding on Desperate Housewives finali on Sunday..

Les Jours des Champagne, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
So May and June are the "French Toast" months

Naturally I've been hunting down all the good champagne glasses I can find. I found this one on Ebay...

My collection is ever growing...

If you see a good glass give a shout! Just remember it can be no taller than 1" - 1 1/4"

There's nothing like a good vintage champagne for you French toast..

In a pinch, if you live in Reims you can substitute chocolate bouchons (corks) filled with Marc de Champagne

I'm celebrating BIG TIME and breaking open a special bottle for the ocassion. Remember the photos I showed you that PB reader, Yuko send me from Japan of the Pierre Herme macaron keychains? Yesterday they arrived in the mail! YIPPEE

This long weekend when your pouring out your champers...

Remember not to over do it...ahem
