TA-DA!
Look!
Yesterday the ballerinas were out in Paris.
And shortie striped skirts.
Why not combine both with striped ballerinas..?
Whilst eating some red berries...
I got berrie thing at Gerard Mulot to paint...
But I ate it :)
I wanted to buy anemonies from my favorite fleuriste
On rue Vavin, but I'm off to VENICE TODAY!
The trees were busting into bloom in the Luxembourg jardins...
People were even wearing sunglasses!
Why not take a gardening class or arrange flowers at the gardens..?
Why not write a letter in Spring green ink?
Or wear a floral hat...
From hat shop Marie Mercie...
Why not tie a pink bow around your waist like at Eric Bompard..?
Even if you have no waist at all yet, wear a red bow for SPRING!!
The Easter chocolate chickens are wearing them...
Everyone was out in the Paris cafes...
Even the Eiffel Tower poked it's head out from the clouds yesterday.
I decided to try my luck and get the best waffle in Paris yesterday...
Well Le Figaro says L'Avant Comptoir has the best so it must be so. When I tried on Sunday I waited on line 45 minutes. Then at the take-away window they said it would be another 10 minutes! Well they only have ONE waffle/gaufre maker! I gave up and went away. But yesterday with Spring finally arriving with a blast I hit lucky and didn't have to wait at all.
YES it was well worth coming back for.
*NEWS ALERT:
I AM NOT TAKING MY COMPUTER.
But perhaps I'll post on PB at a cyber cafe...qui sait?
I'm taking a petite vacance. Please excuse dearest PBers.
I'll be back onboard the 30th of March.
Patience et courage...ahem
BONJOUR SPRING!

Mon Doudou

The first thing a French bebe gets to hold after his/her maman's tata is a Doudou. In the USA we call it a 'blankie' or 'Teddy'
This pensive post was inspired by a Metro poster of a French kid clutching her Doudou.
I kept seeing clutched doudous like on rue de Rivoli and the wheels started turning. *Note French adult on the right clutching his iPod (a doudou in disguise)
A chic or tres classe doudou in mariniere stripes matching the kid's shirt, seen in a high-end shop on rue Tronchet - being well co-ordinated in Paris starts early.
A giant doudou at ART-PARIS
Ecole Ritz Escoffier has plenty of adorable doudous (presumably for adults) if you want to shell out 39-69 euros...
Can you take your doudou to Angelina?
Oui, as long as he puts his purse on a chair and NOT the floor.
Reading a table is allowed.
The doudou as fashion accessory - I first spotted Bear at Sonia Rykiel Saint-Germain it was a coup de foudre/instant love.
Once I owned another Sonia doudou. In the '80's SR made fab faux furs. Matching jaguar doudous were slung round the neck. I bought a black one and used to perch it on my suitcase at customs - I would sail through with ease. French doudous are part of my history.
Can a doudou have his own doudou?
This question keeps me up at night...
I now fully comprehend the French obsession with adorable chocolate animals at Paques/Easter. They are doudous in disguise!
A giant Easter bear/doudou being created in the Paris Ritz chocolate lab - remembrances of things past?
What do you think?
BONJOUR MON DOUDOU!

As obsessed as I am of Paris macarons...
I have an obsession with Paris ballerines. I cannot stop taking pictures of either.
The above balerines come from this boutique on 28, rue du dragon 75006
And Kate, Katherine and Caroline all got their ballerines here.
They have these sweet little ballerine purses for us obsessed nutcases...
I tried my hand at combining macarons and shoes over at Zazzle...Hmmmm
I love these but I've yet to see a leopard-spotted macaron...
Pastry chefs, take a hint!

But savvy Paris ballerine shops have yet to follow suit!#@$%!
Nor will you find ballerines stacked up to look like the Eiffel Tower!?
Truely I think rue Vavin should be renamed rue Ballerine, there are that many ballerine shops on it...
In all price ranges...
When you're done shoe shopping you can walk to the end of the street to Jean-Paul Hevin and buy matching macarons...
I haven't seen any Paris dogs wearing ballerines and I'm not going to hold my breath either.
BONJOUR BALLERINES!

#161 Pierre Herme Ispahan pinkerie PINK PINK PINK on a gray, rainy, chilly day...it can't hurt?
Pictures from a stroll down rue Dauphine in the 6th arrondissement - full of pinknesses like these giant pink meringues...
A pink wedding cake..?
A kid's shop with mostly pink things...
Boys, go elsewhere!
Pink silliness...
In honor of the Westminster Dog Show.. a very silly doggie in a pink chapeau..
From the Salon du Chocolat, piles of pink (framboise or fraise?) nougat. YUM!
Doesn't anyone need pink ink? YES! Especially on a day like today?
For grownups on 26, rue Vavin in the 7th. Baby pink cashmeres from Eric Bompard - miam
Now why can't grownups have bracelets like this?
Or pink purses like this? All from the rue Dauphine boutique...
Well at least we can have baby pink macarons...
Well we could if we happen to be in Paris! Hmmm..
BONNE JOURNEE !
