BEAR is safely home in New York

YAY!

Our last day in Paris was drizzly, overcast, Sunday so no one was out which is always nice :) BEAR decided we should do a last quick run to the Champs-Elysees... L'Arc de Triomphe...Yum Crazy Parisien runners in the rain...What?

Last Parisien dog and a big one!
BEAR spotted a Laduree truck so we headed over...
Ha! Easter bears in the window...dreamy
Inside not so dreamy - a 30-minute wait...
For a dreamy pastry...
None the less we waited and BEAR got to take a last Metro ride in the bag.
BEAR suggested we take AirFrance Bus to Charles de Gaulle Airport since it's faster (though less scenic) then the RoisseyBus...
We got there in 20 minutes with loads of time to browse the duty-free...
BEAR badly wanted a 'I was in Moulin Rouge' T-shirt...
I badly wanted a 'I was in Hermes' something or other...
We both wanted Hediards...
Red boxes...
And Dalloyau's macarons...

BONJOUR HOME!

A quickie post from Paris!!
I overslept!
I can't see straight either - a bit fuzzy here...
And I'm running to the St.-Germain piscine.
Now AirFrance shows you your arrival in Paris from a camera on top of the plane (too much information in my humble opinion) but the ride over on a 380 Airbus was smooth as silk if sleepless...
I reccommend highly taking the Roissey bus into Paris (Opera)...
You'll get acclimated more quickly and you'll catch up on sleep you missed the plane ride over. *Must remember to prep pre-trip next time by sleeping upright in a chair the night before... First goofy French stuff seen immediately upon exiting the bus at Opera...
The first amazing pastry I bought at Lenotre (spotted when exiting the Ecole Militaire metro). Disasterously ruined by bad packing malheureusement...
First Metro.
Excellent lunch at the Canteen downstairs at Merci...
First Eiffel Tower (seen on a cup on rue Jacob)
A quick whirl around the new FAB Left Bank Hermes (more to come...)
Vitrine at Pierre Herme.
Tomorrow is MACARON DAY!!!
Spring vitrine at Laduree - pink, black and green.
It's always Spring at Au Nom de la Rose on rue Cler....
Patisserier Gerard Mulot is getting ready for Spring - but it's raining here and I left my umbrella at home.
Yellow duckies at Bonton...
Stripes as always at St. James...
Older French Girls wearing RED shoes (as always)
BEAR (who I almost left sitting on the living room couch (eeek) is already bear shopping...
BONJOUR PARIS!
More tomorrow I promise

BEAR FRIDAY

BEAR Did you have big success on Black Friday?
Were you out at the crack of dawn catching all the rock-bottom bargains?
BEAR BEAR was dreaming he was back in the duty-free shops of Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport grabbing up the Frenchie bargains...
T-shirts for bears...
BEAR This 'I WAS IN PARIS' Tee was very appealing...
BEAR Not to mention the endless supply...
BEAR Of other bears...
And Eiffel Towers up the whazoo at CDG...
BEAR In every color of the rainbow.
Bear was wishing he'd bought this dapper neckerchief perhaps made by Lanvin..?
BEAR And some French regional caramels would have been nice...
BEAR Maybe next trip, BEAR will bring along his own valise/suitcase so he can bring back some goodies too...
BONJOUR BEAR FRIDAY!

Are the French Goofy?
What do you think?
You could say they have a long tradition of fantasie certainment.
Cat umbrellas wearing furry coats - definitely goofy.
What about this popsicle?
And the French obsession with penny candy?
This big stand has been at the Odeon Metro for years...
Goofy Halloween lingerie!
Who needs it?
Did you know in his spare time YSL sketched naughty, goofy Lulu cartoons?
What about Burberry Parfums offering a give-away teddy bear?
Would you find this in Bergdorf Goodmans?
Does your dog wish to see his/her face in his/her dog bowl?
You can always depend on Plastiques on 103, rue de Rennes to supply goofiness for the whole family.
Eiffel Tower salt shakers are rather practical.
I must remember to pick up some...
La Vaissellerie has a ready supply of goofy stuff...
Have you ever noticed how many otherwise serious and refined boulangeries have goofy figurines around the shop?
I forgot to show you yesterday the giant Superman floating over Printemps Cupcakes Gallery - I just don't get some of these French obsessions...
Goofing around with paper cutouts is HUGE in Paris - you'll see this stuff everywhere and I don't think it's for the tourists. French Girl has tons of goofy stuff in her apartment by the way-more to come... L.APPARTEMENT, a rather chic shop in the 7th arrondissement, is full of goofy tchotchkas.
Skull and bones muffin tins anyone?
Wha'?
What is this stuff anyway?
These are Parisiens leche-vitrine not tourists.
And these Parisiens are happily marching in to buy nutty, goofy tchotchkas. For even more Frenchie dottiness do stop in Colette on 213, St.-Honore 75001!
I guess people who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones. Anyone who goes around with a bear in her purse has got to be seriously goofy non?
BONJOUR PARIS GOOFINESS!
