Where would you rather be chilly?
In Paris?
Or Minneapolis?
The winter bleus are pervasive...
Who doesn't want to hibernate under bleu covers?
But given the chance to walk the chilly streets of Paris...
In bleu jeans I might reconsider...
Especially if I had bleu boots like these...
Or interval boots like interval training depending on your mood - just unzip.
Exposing your bleu gloves to make a fashion statement?
Forggedaboutit.
Exposed bleu chat - this is OK.
Polar bears and colds go together like going hatless when it's 20 degrees.
Milk has a blue caste to it so...
Pink roses in a bleu basket at au Nom de la rose?
Parfait.
Swimming pools are naturalement bleu but does yours have a vending machine full of bleu bathing suits for a mere 10 euros? I doubt it. Why didn't I grab one?
Bleu desserts are rare as hen's teeth...
But leave it to Gerard Mulot to come up with macarons bleus!
I think I'll take a chilly Paris...
BONJOUR WINTER BLEUS!

Brian sends his wife to Paris...watercolor, 9" x 11"
Visiting Guerlain is not at all a strain
In fact it's quite charmain
Bring on the Champagne!
They give you free reign To wander and sniff
Les touches are abundant
At good old Guerlain.

More purfs reside Then in any most other domains
This joint does contain,
Some 700 purfumes
At almighty Guerlain Go try to make up a poem about Guerlain
I'd rather wear a ball and chain.
I'd rather wear some L'heure Bleu
Then keep up with this inane refrain

This idiotic so-called poem Is far too mundane
To encompass the merveilleux Guerlain

I'll cease and desist
And leave you free rein
To wonder les etages at Guerlain
Malheureusement
An awful lot of words
Rhyme with Guerlain...
Go and spritz to your hearts content...
68 avenue des Champs-Elysées
BONJOUR GUERLAIN!

Are you enthralled with l'heure bleue in Paris too?
Wiki says "The blue hour" refers to the period of twilight in Paris that is neither full daylight nor complete darkness...
Mlle Paradis said...J'adore l'Heure Bleue! referring to the perfume...
Intense blue is soooo French is it not?
How clever of Guerlain to allude to the most gorgeous time of day in Paris...
Photo from Guerlain
In fact, when Jacques Guerlain was creating the perfume in 1912, he was referencing the Impressionists painters he collected...
Who captures l'heure bleue better than Monet?
Standing in Place Vendome at l'heure bleue is the perfect time of day...
Why is Paris so damn poetic?
Hoop la...l'heure bleue est fini
Bonjour L'heure Bleue!

I noticed silhouettes in many vitrines like these in Laduree...
Some are just flat cutouts like this swan...
Or multi-colored as this bike shop...
Posters have caught the silhouette tendance...
And Paris graffiti is often in silhouette...
Highly animated silhouettes in Camper's windows...
Bird silhouettes at Annik Goutal...
Not a pure silhouette but a giant iconic baguette cutout....
Paris dog silhouettes on Ile St-Louis...
The silhouettist at Notre Dame-it's contagous, these silhouettes
A contemporary photographer uses an old concept for his carte de visite...
Paris' best loved silhouette...
Paris l'heure bleu is full of silhouettes-no sissors necessary...
BONJOUR SILHOUETTES!!!
