Does anyone do up their windows for automne/fall like the French?
One lone apple tells the story...
A primative squirrel in a children's shop vitrine says it all...
Though you may have to go to Boston or New York to see a real one...
Falling leaves..?
Iconic...
Even better - chocolate leaves for Fall.
Best of all leaves at Place des Vosges...
Or just one fallen leaf beside an orange Pierre Herme bag of goodies...
Cepes-champignon-mushrooms...
Toujours/always signs of Fall in Paris...
And plenty of real cepes in the Paris marches...
Venison, lapin, wild boar - more tastes of fall...
And what will Bambi wear this Fall?
Toujour l'orange!
Elle says le look for French girls is this..
On Monday Jan Gossart's fruity autumnal wreath made me think of...
Or should I say made me dream of...
Pain Quotidien's jams on the communal tables are left unattended!

No, I showed restraint and did not eat them to the last drop...

BONJOUR AUTOMNE!

Certaines personnes/some people have a lot of confiture/jam in their refrigerators... Certaines personnes think it's perfectly OK to go out and leave other persons alone in their apartment completely surrounded by jam jars...ahem Certaines personnes happen to be on vacance in Barcelona and are not going to see this post... These certaines personnes have tremendous amounts of jam in their frigo.. And on their pantry shelves.Certaines personnes have uncles who make their own honey/miel, so don't think of giving them a fancy jar of honey when they run out...no way! Certaines personnes have boxes of jam tartelettes hanging around... Certaines other personnes can only get up close and personal with a jar of jam when it's through a camera lense... They are allowed to get chummy with jars of paint pigment.
BUT THAT IS IT. PERIOD.
At Fortum & Masons...
It's best to keep certaines personnes at a distance from the jam jars. Certaines personnes have been known to attack a jar of jam with a spoon and not stop till they hit bottom.
Certaines personnes were contemplating taking these mini jam jars home.
They made the fatal error of going to the top floor at F&M for a tres cher afternoon tea, but thank gawd they were too embarrassed to do so...
Certaines personnes nearly missed their plane lingering over jam at CDG admiring the gazillion flavors...
Certaines personnes are awfully late posting today but they would much rather be in Paris, even if it is raining on Bastille day...
BONJOUR CERTAINES PERSONNES!

Blé Sucré

Here's some Paris torture for ya!
And for me too, since I'm back in chilly New York. The above viennoiserie is the famously unpronouncable and unspellable Breton kouign amann, an impossibly buttery, caramelized pastry...
That took me out of the apartment last Saturday to go to Blé Sucré in the 12th near Marche Aligre and you should go too!
Well, that is if you want go off your diet with a bang and never regret a single bite. This utterly delicious thing is called a "paille" something or other (does it look like straw to you?). I had one the day before or else I would have indulged. Getting powdered sugar down your front is one of the memorable experiences from eating paille filled with raspberry confiture. Oh yeah, you'll get jam on your chin too. This is the most unmanagable of French pastries and well worth it. Have you tried one?
I pray gratefully many times that I do not love whipped cream. I am a sucker for any tarte citron I come across. I did have one of Blé Sucre's and it was absolutemente excellent.
Did I mention that Ble's Fabrice Le Bourdat, was formerly a pastry chef at Le Bristol and it shows. Though the prices do not as you can see.
I am thankful I found Blé Sucre just 2 days before leaving Paris or the results of my summer regime would have been completement fini.
The wall of homemade jams - I got the l'abricot - there was a stick of vanilla inside...sigh
They do have macarons and I should have gotten some, but I was loaded with enough goodies as it was. I went straight home to try them out. You can get lunch at Blé Sucre too.
Eat it on their terrace overlooking Square Trousseau, while gazing in at all the possible dessert choices...
Addresse: 7, rue Antoine Vollon 12th
Metro: Ledru Rollin

BONJOUR Blé Sucré et Merci!
