Yesterday was major. I got my walking papers to venture back into the Big Apple (with a cane but I'm now allowed to climb up the stairs alternate steps instead of one-step-at-a-time!) YAHOO
A chance to return to the Pastry Sketch Crawl begun in late January...
With some reservations bien sur...
NO sitting for hours on end (that upended me into a sciatica episode)...
Back to tres chic Cafe Petrossian.
Though Lord knows why I picked out exactly the SAME tarte as last fateful visit...
I must have a deep hidden attraction to strawberries...
If not to pate brisee crust. I only stayed a half hour and sketched a bit. No point tempting the Gods of Sciatica again.
I returned home to paint in bed...
This seems to be a lucky painting spot for me along with Nom de la Rose teas...

Bonjour mes amis! I'm sorry for my absence. My days have been filled shopping for school supplies and enjoying the last days of summer with my children before the school year begins. I'm never quite ready to send them back.
With the 100+ temps we're having, I'm dreaming of cooler temperatures and autumn fashion!

Capture the New York Girl with such dash and ease..?
Yesterday as I was slogging through the 90 degree heat, the New York Girl was everywhere! New York tourists are always looking up, so they completely miss her...
Or they're looking and shooting each other at New York 'monuments' like Rock Center...
The way to find the TRUE New York Girl (or NYG) is to look at the ground...
Fab sandals everywhere. Does this NYG have a twisted ankle?
Divinely simple Gucci sandals - how could I miss the logos all over...
The Gucci's owner - quite soigne and all in neutrals.
Hey French Girls! The NYG has figured it out too ya know...
This classy babe wears common flip flops and pulls it off with panache...

This classy babe wears common flip flops and pulls it off with panache...OMG WHERE ARE MY %#@* FLIP FLOPS!?
Absolutement pas!
She's saving herself for Chocolatier Michel Cluizel on 5th avenue bien sur...
OMG! Where have I been?
A petite bouchee will do nicely...
Two smart NYGs catch a faint breeze in Bryant Park...
Another waits for the free movie to start in the park...

Another NY mec lounges on 'Fashion Ave' and completely misses...
The fab Stephen Burrows 'Sidewalk Catwalk' display on his left. HMPH!

Paris dogs do...
There are soooo many "don'ts" in Paris...One BIG "do" is it's OK to pet a strange dog.
It can be quite chilly if you sit outside...
La Mom in Paris sent me this adorable photo of a pampered Paris pet sitting at the dinner table in his/her OWN chaise/chair! Wha'?
"Stop reading and give me a snack svp vite, Madame".
Definitely an improvement on plain vanilla canvas though I wonder how the 'gator feels about it...No 'gator carrier bag required.
Things have changed...
A Paris dog can no longer enter a food shop. *note the sign at Eric Kayser. Horrors! Also*note the thoughtfully-designated parking place for your hound.
I stalked this dog and owner for quite a few paces... Don't ask me why. Nothing all that special, except it IS a Paris dog.
Bergdorf Goodman's is trying desperately to ape Paris ways by placing a dog in their window. But where are the Louboutins? Shoesless? Barefoot? You would never see this on a Paris street!
No Paris dog would permit it.
BONJOUR PARIS DOGS!!!
