If I'm staying with M. in Paris, who lives in the 6th arrondissement, she usually accompanies me to the RER St.-Michel station on the other side of the Luxembourg gardens.
If it happens to be a sunday/dimanche...
There isn't a nicer way to depart Paris...
Everyone is out and about in the park on sunday...
Taking in the last of the Fall leaves...
But mostly relaxing...
Very few are working away...
Decontracte is the word for the day.
Very few are bothering with the sunday paper as they would be if they were in Central Park...
All the Paris babies are out showing off...
The small fry get to take advantage...
Of the Luxembourg's poney rides.
Jam-packed on a sunday...
To get to the RER station you must go by the pond in the park...
Perfect for sailing small boats and general lounging around...
You don't, as a rule see many eating in the park, but these girls are excused.
I can tell from their red striped paper bag...
They just came from the penny candy stall at the Odeon Metro.Les bonbons are always allowed in Paris.

You could say they have a long tradition of fantasie certainment.
Cat umbrellas wearing furry coats - definitely goofy.

You can always depend on Plastiques on 103, rue de Rennes to supply goofiness for the whole family.
Eiffel Tower salt shakers are rather practical. I must remember to pick up some...
La Vaissellerie has a ready supply of goofy stuff...
Have you ever noticed how many otherwise serious and refined boulangeries have goofy figurines around the shop?
I forgot to show you yesterday the giant Superman floating over Printemps Cupcakes Gallery - I just don't get some of these French obsessions...
Goofing around with paper cutouts is HUGE in Paris - you'll see this stuff everywhere and I don't think it's for the tourists. French Girl has tons of goofy stuff in her apartment by the way-more to come...
L.APPARTEMENT, a rather chic shop in the 7th arrondissement, is full of goofy tchotchkas.
Skull and bones muffin tins anyone?
La Vaissellerie has a ready supply of goofy stuff...

And these Parisiens are happily marching in to buy nutty, goofy tchotchkas. For even more Frenchie dottiness do stop in Colette on 213, St.-Honore 75001!
I guess people who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones. Anyone who goes around with a bear in her purse has got to be seriously goofy non?
