Printemp Paris Rose Teapot, watercolor at Etsy, 9" x 11"
~
Some people are madly searching for signs of Spring...
Some people have had to look in other people's backyards since Spring is rather reluctant to show up on the East Coast.
I got this glass teapot in Paris at Les Comptoirs Richard and it makes an awfully nice vase in a pinch don't ya think?
Do you know Manon 21?
Well you should! Even though this is an older photo, Manon does divinely poetic French posts.
SVP do drop in....
Heather lives in Paris and has lots of 'Paris Secrets' to tell.
Including that the daffs are out in the parc! Fancy that. Wonder what the French word for daffodil can be?
Watercolorist Sue of A Brush With Color does the best arrangements and these are from her garden. Who is not jealouse?
So far Vienna is neck-in-neck with NYC hanging back in the race to Printemps, but Merisi of Vienna has found flowers on teacups which is nearly as good, well almost...
Yellow roses of Ireland are featured at Harpist Amy and you can hear her play exquisitely to bouquets of roses. *Not to be missed!
Walzing around the Marais (in the days when I could walz) I discovered Vertige on 11, rue de Sevigne 75004.
They specialize in featuring mainly greens...
Don't miss their galerie of greenie photos - simply lush.
Meanwhile artist Ian Sidaway is out sketching in his allotment - Lucky Ian!
Here's what I'd like to be wearing if is were Spring/Printemps...
And here's what I'd eat whilst wearing the above pink pull - all springie colored macarons.
MIAM!
BONJOUR Other People's SPRING!

BEAR has let it be know that he'd like to be 'in the picture' so to speak...

BEAR Loves Roses, Fraises, Macarons, Watercolor, 9" x 11"

~

Speaking of roses, Parisien jeweler, Victoire de Castellane also loves roses and has an exhibit of rare flowers at the Gagosian Galerie on 4 Rue Ponthieu 75008 until March 22nd.

Photos by Thierry Depagne

The display is quite sensational...
Jeweled flowers...
Under glass domes...
As they well deserve...
Castellane designed jewelry for Chanel for 14 years...
And then moved on to Dior in 1998...
As the first Creative Director of the jewelry department...
Basically self-taught, Castellane made her first piece of jewelry at the age 5 by wrecking a precious brooch of her mothers and making it into earrings.
She adores playing with unusual materials and the unexpected...
Toys and whimsey are a constant source of inspiration.
Don't miss hearing her speak...

BONJOUR VICTOIRE!

Au Nom de la Rose Can there be too many visits to the Paris floral chain Au Nom de la Rose?
I think not...
Au Nom de la Rose These closet-sized boutiques spill their wares out onto the street...
Au Nom de la Rose In the most charming of ways...
Au Nom de la Rose Who could possibly mind the rose petals they scatter under tables and chairs?
Au Nom de la Rose You get a sac of rose petals when you make a purchase too...
Au Nom de la Rose What's not to love about Au Nom de la rose?
Au Nom de la Rose Is it ever too late for a heart-shaped bouquet?
Au Nom de la Rose Never!
Au Nom de la Rose I'm pretending, between physical therapy sessions...
Au Nom de la Rose That some mysterious someone has scattered a few rose petals around here...

Besides Marie wanted to know where the rose bud tea came from...

I see the rose tea and it looks like a bunch of tiny rosebuds bunched together. Is it one of those flower teas or is it actually roses that open to make the tea?
It's from Fauchon in Paris and I have an old jar of withered buds still...
Comptoir Richard has rose bud tea too...

Chocolat Marquise de Sevigne is also gaga for true French bleu...

His metal boxes make perfect gifts and last forever true bleu...
Speaking of French bleus - this is me gazing out the living room window wistfully at the junk food/candy store on the corner. I have ventured out to the postbox to mail off your paintings. Fortunately no junk food urges overtook me at the time. Whew!
Not to worry.
I booked my seat to Paris/Venice for mid-March yesterday.
One MUST think positive!!
