I would so LOVE to be having breakfast in Paris this morning...
Bear agrees...
Bear suggested Laduree Royale - he's very good at suggestions.
Even waitressing at Laduree seems very appealing this morning...
Although we'd both happily settle...
For a lesser venue if need be...
Bear does insist on his hot cuppa at cafe Le Select...
My first day in Paris in June, I had a lot of breakfasts.
Then I wised up and started shooting other people's Paris breakfasts..
Their leftovers look pretty good don't they?
As still lifes I mean bien sur...
Even though I don't smoke or drink coffee...
I would so love to be in this Parisien's shoes.
Wouldn't you?

Yesterday my computer BLEW UP!!!
The inside of my head looks a lot like this...
The good news is I had to clean up my studio to find stuff.
I haven't seen this bare table in perhaps years...
I had to clean up the back wall recently for a video conference with an overseas client.
"Necessity is the mother of invention"
Fortunately I'd already bought my ticket to Paris, the day before the computer died and I had to go buy a replacement.
Otherwise qui sait?
Come mid-October I will be leche le vitrine/licking the windows in Paris...
Then I will have a REAL Paris breakfast.
Meanwhile I have a big learning curve in front of me -
Windows 7
But I do have a clean studio to show for it all
One must look on the bright side of things right?
Doodly-doodly-do...
BONJOUR PBers!!

What are YOU doing this Labor Day week-end?
Shall we pretend we're in Paris...
And go for a walk/promenade?
Paris Mommy doing 'The Paris Walk'
*Note the long stride and no break at the knee...
Meandering around high heels might be a stretch since Jean-Paul Goude designed them...
Oh the other hand (or foot) shop till you drop?
Oui bien sur!
Merci Soledad for the wonderful illo...
Wanna run to work?
Wait it's Labor Day when we celebrate not working.
Still if it put me in Paris I would RUN!
The march of the poets on the left bank.
I'm game. Are you?
Do you jog?
I do not. But I'm ready if it takes me to les jardins Tuilleries...
'Le dejeuner sur l'herbe' is more my style...
Or a Paris cafe?
Do you love to read maps in Paris? I do....sigh
Shall we just hang out..?
They say it's a good exercise to put yourself in another's shoes.
Oui, YES SVP!
What do they say about browsing Paris pastry shop vitrines..?
JUST DO IT!
If you hear of a rent-a-dog-for-a-walk agency in Paris?
Do tell.
BONNE WEEK-END PBers!!!

What do YOU do your first day in Paris?
It could be anywhere you love to visit really...
Do you rent a Velib and go cruising around town?
What makes you feel immediatement at home in a place you've visited before?
A stop at your favorite patisserie per chance, like SECCO?
Do you plan on cooking a meal (if you rented an apartment) and go off to your favorite marche?
Buy a few fleurs for your room, say at La Nom de la Rose, even if you're staying in a hotel..?
GO SHOE SHOPPING!
Or browse in a wine shop..?
Do you get all sportive and need to take a jog in the Luxembourg Jardin to feel homie?
How about buying a bunch of French magazines at a presse kiosk even though your French is rather rusty or non-existent?
Then you head for your favorite cafe where they even remember you from the last time, like Le Select...
Must-haves = box of macarons!
Some French chocolate!
Bread or those cookies by Poilane bien sur.
A quickie run into a department store to catch up on the latest tendances/trends like Le Bon Marche?
Do you take a Metro or a mini tour on a Paris bus like the No.95 that goes everywhere you want to go..?
Do you stand in the rue studying the ardoise/menus pretending you're going to eat there..?
Did you book a table ahead at your favorite resto?
Is visiting the Eiffel Tower an absolute must-see for you first day?
Do you also keep an eye out for something special to bring home to remember your trip?
My first day in Paris, I try to pretend it's my last day so I can remember to appreciate every single nanon second of it. But usually I forget. I get caught up in the visual buffet and forget to remember until it is The Last Day...
Tell me what YOU do first day in Paris.
BONJOUR PARIS!
