As we were out viewing the windows around the Madeleine...
I heard a great sniff come from French Girl...
A great HMPH regarding the invasion of Easter bunnies in Fauchon's windows...
I was informed that traditionally the French only have chocolate church bells, chickens and eggs for Easter.
That the bunny is a trendy interloper...
Perhaps like the wretched Cane Toad that invaded Australia..?
Here you can see the very French traditional chocolate church bell...
For some unknown reason I can't figure out the French are deeply enamoured with the stupidest looking chickens!
Honestly, does this look like a savvy chicken with je ne sais quoi to you? I think not.
At least Fauchon is keeping a low profile with their chickens - not quite so ridiculous in my humble opinion. There will be more on the dumb French chicken/poule demain/tormorrow. Prepare to be shocked.
The almighty PIERRE HERME has seen fit to include a BUNNY in his Easter/Paques collection, so TAKE THAT French Girl! HMPH indeed.
Anyway bunnies are famous for proliferating madly so why fight it? The bunny has become like the cupcake in Paris - A fact of life. Labels: Chocolate bunnies, Fauchon, French Girl

Last night French Girl and I went out to shoot the windows/les vitrines...
Au Printemps department store was celebrating La Fete du Printemps...
With giant floral bunnies...
Floral swans...
In lavender no less...
And flower-headed Rockette Chorus girls...
Lined up...
In sumptuous rows...
A flower power couple even...
This flower girl succumbed to Spring Fever and fainted...
In a swoon from rose perfumes...
Hidden in ribboned boxes...
Suddenly behind us on boulevard Haussmann we heard a great WOOSH!
Hundreds upon hundreds of Parisien skaters took over the street in a woosh of Spring Fever! Labels: Chocolate bunnies, flowers, L'Escargot, paris maps, perfume, Printemps

Rosie in the UK contacted me, saying she wanted to send her 2 Bunnies to Paris
Rosie in the UK contacted me, saying she wanted to send her 2 Bunnies to Paris
I was thrilled.
Visions of Peter Cottontail danced in my head...
When at last Bluebelle's photo arrived I was a tad taken aback. Who knew not all rabbits have ears standing skyward...?
Or that a very fine rabbit like Pebbles can legitimately have one ear up and one ear down? PBers meet the Lop Eared Rabbit!
Look! Laduree is far more savvy in the rabbit world - they feature Easter bunnies just like Pebbles with one ear at half mast...
Though other Laduree bunnies are quelle ordinaire...
Paris is full of lapin it turns out...
Surely it is the perfect place for Bluebelle et Pebbles to spend their Easter vacance...
They will be in seriously good company...
Do you have a bunny begging to go to Paris?
Once they've had their fill of macarons, what's to stop them high-tailing it over to Au Lapin Agile to down a few with Picasso et Utrillo...

Do you have a bunny begging to go to Paris?Or a chicken perhaps?
Why deprive them?
They deserve a nice break indeed.

Just watch the video and you'll be smitten too...

Nope these were shot in Paris. Imported from Vermont?
Leeks /poireaux are definitely a Frenchie veggie - they own this one.
And marrons/chestnuts. Oui, they own it.
And Soupe de marrons...oui aussi.
Recette de soupe de Potiron/pumpkin- regarde!

So here's the Paris Fall story/histoire d'automne...
I was in a Paris mall with French Girl and asked, "what are all those polka-dotted mushroom-like things in the shop windows?"
"It's Fall. Mushrooms are the symbol of Automne - it's when we go picking wild mushrooms in the forest."
So do all Parisien shop owners meet at the Mairie/town hall? And do they hand out polka-dotted mushrooms and dryed leaves? I think they do. Every window/vitrine has the same stuff...
Here Jeff de Bruges offers a special automne collection of chocolats
Why don't I see this in New York? 'Cause it's New York. Only in Paris are there seasonal couture-style collections of chocolates and macarons...
Champange is good anytime...non? it's even better with champignon d'Automne/mushrooms.
Fauchon decked their halls with stags and bunnies...
And Fall leaves bien sur.
More gold feuille/leaves...

More gold feuille/leaves...Yesterday I passed a restaurant window in my neighborhood decorated with falling leaves. I thought, Eeeep. Fall is almost over. I haven't shown you Paris Fall! Et voila. Well I must go get me some choux de Bruxelles PDQ and make my Thanksgiving dish.
What are YOU making?
BONJOUR AUTOMNE!
