Paris Hilton halted an interview with Piers Morgan to comfort her mother, Kathy, who burst into tears as the socialite described her infamous sex tape scandal.

A video of "The Simple Life" star and then-boyfriend Rick Salomon getting intimate in the bedroom hit the web in 2003 and was later released on DVD, entitled "One Night In Paris."

Hilton opened up about the ordeal during a joint interview with her mom Kathy on CNN talk show "Piers Morgan Tonight," which aired in on Tuesday night.

She says, "I just felt so betrayed. This was not some random guy, this was someone I was with for a few years. I thought I did (love him). I can't believe that he would do something like that to me.

"It's something that changed my life forever. This is not what I planned. I didn't want to be known as that.

"Now when people look at me, they think that I'm something that I'm not, just because of one incident one night with someone who I was in love with. People assume, 'Oh, she's a s**t', just because of one thing that happened to me."

Kathy was seen wiping away tears as the TV star continued, "I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life and explain it to my children. It's something that's changed my life forever. I'll never be able to erase that."

Morgan tried to continue his interview, but Hilton switched her attention to Kathy -- who was silently weeping at her daughter's revelations -- and gave her a hug. Morgan then offered to cut to an ad break as a crew member handed Paris a tissue to pass to her mother.

Kathy explains, "It was a very difficult time. We had therapy, and I think that that really helped (deal with the scandal)."

Husband Nick Cannon told Piers Morgan in an interview, “It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding… I don't know if someone heard that, but then they were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story.”

“To even have to deal with that, my wife in the state that she's in, we're in the hospital, to even have to think about someone possibly wanting to investigate your children… it's sad at the end of the day,” Cannon continued.

He also added that people have gone to ridiculous lengths to try to snap photos of the babies.

“There’s been photographers actually in the hospital posing as different people or people trying to get pictures of the kids,” Cannon explained. “Which is really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies.”

The TV funnywoman was first linked to 50 Cent last October when they were photographed enjoying a night out together, but the stars dismissed talk of a budding relationship.

Handler has now finally opened up about their romance, telling talk show host Piers Morgan, “We dated – very causally.”

She added, “He’s a very sweet, nice guy. He’s fun, a great guy. He’s the complete antithesis of what you would imagine. Sweet, funny, a great sense of humor.”

Handler also used her appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight to address rumors her new boyfriend is Uma Thurman’s former lover, hotelier Andre Balazs.

She told the host, “I’m seeing someone now. I feel like I talk about my love life (too much).”

When asked by Morgan, “Is he a hotelier?”, she replied, “That sounds familiar actually! I have spent so much time exposing my personal life to everybody that I’m finally in a situation where I feel like it’s disrespectful to another person.

“We all know who I’m dating! What do you want me to talk about? Underwear?! Sorry, I’m not being coy, we all know what’s happening. I’ve learned to respect somebody else’s privacy. He has children, so I have to be nice.”
