It only takes a small bit of fluff or fur to be 'IN' this winter in Paris. And your dog can wear it if you'd rather not...
A fluffy-faux furry-shruggie thing will do...
If you insist, it can be orange and from SONIA...
But frankly it doesn't matter where you get your fluff...
Or who made it...
Granted, this kid's snow suit will cost you a bundle and is probably from Dior.
Surely you have an old bit of fur to stitch into a hood non?
Gerard Darel stitches it on to a bag this season...
Fur-esque boots were the most unusual bit of fluff seen on Paris streets...
A furry shawl collar thing will do it...
The 'Lady-like' look is always in fashion - and a fur scarf is just the added touch...
Like this French girl dans le rue...
A fur-jacketed kid with a Burberry mom...
A grown-up furry jacket worn with all grey dans la rue...
October was mille-feuille month and what a fluffy dessert that is. Well it better be hadn't it?
Gerard Mulot does superb fluffy desserts like nobody else in Paris...
A real walking-on-all-four-legs bit of French fluff...
M. told me to go to Bon Marche's basement to catch all the fluffy peluches/teddy bears and I did...
BEAR has never denied himself admiring a bit of French fluff.
Really he's quite incorrigible...

THEY are wearing CAT!
Well OK 'wild' cat patterns...
Really any animal pattern will do...
But mostly catty patterns are preferred...
Tell me the name of this famous highend stocking brand?
It begins with a 'W'. They have cat patterns up the whazoo...
Combine the trend for faux furs with cat patterns plus a shorty jacket and you're set.
These are all very neutral, but then Paris does go in for grey/gris in a big way. You'll find animal prints at all price points and for the kids too.
Here's what I can't figure out...
With all the perfectly nice flat surfaces...
On these Paris pastries I find it deeply troubling...
That the tres au courant and very fashionable Parisien pastry chefs...
...Have not added a touch of cat patterns on top of these tartes.
All that's required is a stencil and a sprinkling of cocoa powdre et voila! You have a tarte to match your scarf or leggings etc.
Me, I'm dressed in layers, none of them catty.
But ever prepared for Paris' changing weather...
Meanwhile BEAR is busy browsing Paris bears and anything stripey...
BONJOUR PARIS CHATS!

When I came back to Paris I got an email from Vicki, still in London, asking me,
"How's the weather in Paris?"
I always find this a funny question. In one day in Paris you can have brilliant sunlight... Parisiens, like New Yorkers, at the first hint of sunshine shed their clothes... Or not - this Parisien is ready for any possible inclement weather...

The Eiffel Tower likes to play hide and seek with Paris grey skies...
There can be a sudden downpour at the drop of hat in Paris...
Especially on those days you didn't bring your parapluie because the sun shining...
A Parisien dreaming of warmer weather...
Everyone's been moaning about June not being particularly June-like this year in Paris. I didn't mind a bit. I do mind how June-like it is in New York - 94 degrees today and I should be dressed like this if the AC wasn't going full blast - where's my cardie..?
Even Hermes is dreaming of hot days and changed their 'cover-up' while they refurbish their new shop to lighter clothing...
This OFG (Older French Girl) has got on her summery whites on rue de Rivoli...
The guard hound from cafe rue de Buci is taking a stroll on the loose to catch a bit of sun while he can...
The streets are still wet from a fleeting shower, but that doesn't stop cafe sitters from sitting and browsing the passer-bys...
And Bear is right out there with them lapping it up....
Paris weather is comme ca/like that.
One day can have the full spectrum of rain, shine, mist, cold etc.
The menu is always varied in Paris...
Il fait beau - the weather is nice
BONJOUR PARIS CLIMAT!

Parisiens don't just wear neutrals year-round and live in neutral buildings. They furnish their interiors with even more neutrals...
To visit the new branch of Blanc D'Ivoire
25 rue de saintonge, 75003
Fernanda et famille at Blanc D'Ivoire, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
They have a wonderful eye...
Everything at Blanc d'Ivoire is pretty terrific.
Terrific shapes...
Terrific textures...
Terrific neutrals that all work perfectly together...
They do offer the odd small spash of brilliant color just to jazz things up a bit...
For an even bigger spash of brill color...
After we went to the fav caf hidden inside the Centre Culturel Suedois..
11, rue Payenne 75003 Paris

The Swedish are not afraid to get spashy with color...
But they do get their knickers in a twist if you bring in a tarte citron from nearby patisserie Jacques Genin to eat with their chocolat chaud.
We got our hands slapped...ahem :)
BONJOUR BLANC D'IVOIRE!!
