The Crazy In Love hitmaker was preparing for her performance on the American Idol final.
And Jay-Z, 41, couldn't help but praise the 29 year-old's talent.
He wrote on his LifeandTimes website: 'Sometimes you need perspective. You've been right in front of greatness so often that you need to step back and see it again for the first time.'
He added: 'This is the dressing room rehearsal for American Idol. No microphone. No effects.'
