Her producers Fremantle are said to be trying to avoid paying the 27-year-old, who was axed from the talent competition after recording just four shows, the £1.2 million she was due to receive and are saying she has to go to the US embassy in London to apply for a visa.

A source told The Hollywood Reporter: 'They don't want to pay her. It's a chess match.'

According to the insider, Geordie Cole wants to be paid for her work out of principle because she had moved to Los Angeles for the job.

The Promise This singer is allegedly going to apply for the visa so she can appear as a judge on the final edit of the talent competition.

The report also suggests that Cheryl's team believe that music mogul Simon Cowell was behind her dismissal as, 'he thinks he can move people around like chess pieces.'

X Factor judge Gary Barlow is 'disappointed' that Cheryl Cole is no longer part of the talent competition.

Last year's female judges - Cole, 27, and Dannii Minogue, 39 - have both been replaced, with Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.

And Barlow admits he would love to have worked with the Girls Aloud star.

According to British newspaper the Daily Mirror, the 40 year-old said: 'I sent Cheryl some texts just saying 'Sending support'. She's a good friend of mine. I'm disappointed that she's gone.

'The other two girls are going to be great.'

But Barlow is not sure Simon Cowell, 51, will be missed as much.

He joked: 'It was time he went anyway, he's been on it too much.'

Cheryl Cole will receive her full £1.2 million fee for the US version of 'The X Factor'.

Despite being sacked earlier this week after just four days on the show's judging panel, Cheryl will take home full pay for the series, even though she is unlikely to appear in the final version of the show.

Cheryl was said to be "shocked and stunned" at the news she was being let go by the Fox network which makes the show, who reportedly cited a "lack of chemistry" with fellow judge Paula Abdul as their reason.

'The X Factor' boss Simon Cowell - who brought the 27-year-old singer to the US for the show - has broken his silence on the matter, saying, "I feel guilty."

He also insisted his "hands were tied" by network executives at Fox.

A source close to the TV mogul told The Sun newspaper: "He loves Cheryl and did everything in his power to get her on US TV.

"But channel chiefs just weren't happy. It was a necessary evil and he feels terribly guilty about it."

Cheryl is believed to have been replaced by Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel of the talent show, which also includes Simon and L.A. Reid.
Cheryl is now locked in negotiations about a possible return to the UK version of the show, although sources say she is asking for a much higher fee.

Cheryl Cole has been replaced as a judge on the new US version of The X Factor because she is homesick, it was claimed on Thursday.

The 27-year-old singer's place on the show - which debuts in September - is likely to be taken by ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, according to reports.

Scherzinger, 32, was originally due to host the US X Factor alongside Welsh television presenter Steve Jones.

Celebrity website TMZ.com had reported that Cole was primarily dropped from the judging panel because producers feared the American audience would not understand her Geordie accent.
There were also concerns that the former Girls Aloud star had a "lack of chemistry" with fellow X Factor judge Paula Abdul, the website said.

But British newspaper The Sun reported that Cole was quitting the program because she was missing friends and family in Britain.

"It hasn't worked out. She's homesick and wants to return to the UK. She's had enough. Whether she ends up back on UK X Factor is open to speculation," a source on the show told the paper.

Cole was announced as a judge on the American edition of the singing talent show earlier this month after heated speculation about whether she could make it on the other side of the Atlantic.

She was due to be on the panel alongside Abdul, X Factor supremo Simon Cowell and respected former record boss LA Reid.

The move meant her leaving the British version of the hit program after three years.

Days after her new role was revealed, Cole admitted she had "stepped out of her comfort zone" to do the show in America but insisted that her strong accent would be no problem for US audiences.

She said: "Americans can always understand me. I've been here a lot, I've got a lot of American friends and we have the odd moments where they're like, 'What? What did that mean?' - you know, a phrase.

"But I think that it's going to be something that people get used to. And I'm proud of my accent."

Cowell joked at the time that Cole could mime to someone else's voice to get round any accent problems.

"We could do it like Singing In The Rain - just have someone behind a wall just talking and she's got to lip-sync the whole show."

Cheryl Cole has just moved to the U.S. and she’s already a trendsetter. The newest X-Factor judge attended the auditions in Los Angeles over the weekend with a 70’s inspired look. She was sporting big hair with bold colors, which are really hot this season.

As mentioned previously, matching bold colors are what are hot this season. Move away from the blacks and grays and take some risks with the blues and oranges.

Sarah Jessica Parker followed Cole’s big hair look last night as she attended the Robin Hood Foundation gala in N.Y.C, but unfortunately it didn’t look that great on her. She might want to take some tips from Cheryl on how to get the perfect big do because SJP’s looked messy.

What do you guys think of the latest trend??

Paula Abdul has signed on to join The X Factor judges table, Deadline reports.

The deal reunites the former American Idol judge with Simon Cowell, who will judge and executive-produce X Factor. Abdul, 48, and Cowell, 51, worked together on Idol for eight seasons before Abdul left in 2009. Cowell departed the next year to launch The X Factor in the U.S. after working on the original U.K. version for seven seasons.

Nicole Scherzinger, Steve Jones named X Factor co-hosts

Cowell said he had "always loved working" with Abdul in an interview with Deadline last week. "I don't know what it is about her, but I've always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she's right," Cowell said. "I've never found anyone better than her."

Abdul joins previously announced judges Cheryl Cole, who worked on the British original, and former record label Chairman Antonio "LA" Reid. Former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger and British TV host Steve Jones were announced as the hosts for X Factor on Saturday.

Simon Cowell: "There's a good chance" Paula Abdul will judge X Factor

Abdul's deal closed less than 24 hours before The X Factor's first audition taping, which takes places at 1 p.m. Sunday in Los Angeles.

Following her exit from Idol, Abdul most recently judged and executive-produced the CBS dance competition series, Live to Dance.

The X Factor's winning act will receive a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. The singing competition premieres in the fall on Fox.
